Now this is where we talk about stuff like global warming, gas, and electric stuff. Personally I'd say I'm a tree hugger. I prefer green things. Now this isn't going to be an argument of "I'm right you're wrong" type thing because that goes nowhere. We can all just post facts and discuss this in a mature manner. When it comes to cars I'm sort of torn. For one I'm a car fanatic. I love the sound of a V8 with twin turbo and all that but I also like keeping greenhouse gases at a minimum. So the hard choice is which to get? For one a lot of companies make their electric cars look stupid that way more people will buy the internal combustion cars. I recently however found a very cool electric car. This company makes only electric vehicles and they make them look good too. www.teslamotors.comRead up on them there and the benefits of having electric over gas. youtube.com/watch?v=hOl_1S10jTkyoutube.com/watch?v=kRd7ER7u-KU

Well, I personally think that gas cars are obviously worse for the environment. But, without them, the economy would suffer as well. Many sports/ tourist attractions/recreational Activites involve gas cars, etc. So yes, in the end electric cars are better for the earth, but without gas cars, The world would be much different.

We might have a world without gas cars at the rate we're getting through the remaining oil supplies. It's more serious than I first thought. Electric is best, but it's not as effective. We need gas to get the electricity we use anyway! More electricity being used to charge the cars means more gas is burned for the electricity to be made...

^^ That's true ^^ There is another way we can actually have our power companies pay us for giving them electricity. Simply hook up a solar power station (those aren't all that big. You can put them in the corner of your back yard and still have plenty of room.) to your house and once all the cells in it are charged the excess electricity goes to your nearest power company and you get a check in the mail every month from them. And it is also true that oil supplies are quickly running out. So it actually is inevitable that we'll switch to electric vehicles soon.

Well.. I agree with the fact that we as a planet are using up all the oil.. but there are so many people that are ignoring the warnings that pretty soon something big is going to happen, and when it does there are going to be alot of shocked people... I think that electric cars are a really good idea.. but for all the hassle they cause with the charging and the expensive price tags can we really afford to move to electricity yet?

But they only use electricity up to a certain speed - which is fine for people living in major cities, but for the rest of us, we spend most of our time travelling faster than 30mph. It'll help things, this hybrid idea, but it's not yet a complete solution.

On the contrary it costs more to run hybrid cars than it does a gas or electric. Hybrid cars are also inefficient when it comes to high speed travel. As a hybrid car tester said "Hybrids are only good on sunny clear skies, dry roads, and low speeds."
